Unique.I Ltd (Company Number: 770324) is an Irish e-commerce platform specialising in second-hand and pre-loved clothing. This Payment Policy explains how we process, secure, and manage payments made through our website www.uniquei.ie, in compliance with Irish consumer protection law and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Accepted Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods through the Shopify Payments platform:
Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit/debit cards
PayPal
Alternative wallets displayed at checkout (e.g., Apple Pay, Google Pay)
All transactions are processed in Euros (€) and include VAT where applicable.
Unique.I processes purchases exclusively from customers located within the Republic of Ireland.
Transactions are accepted only from Irish-based payment methods, and international purchases are not supported.
2. Secure Processing
Payments are processed by Shopify Payments, which is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.
Your card details are encrypted and transmitted securely; Unique.I does not store or access full payment card data.
Shopify acts as a data processor, and its data transfers outside the EEA are safeguarded under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

We also maintain SSL encryption, secure checkout verification, and fraud prevention systems to ensure your payment details remain protected.
3. Payment Authorisation & Order Acceptance
When placing an order, you authorise us to charge your selected payment method immediately.
Your order is confirmed only when you receive a dispatch email. If we cannot fulfil your order, we will issue a full refund.
We reserve the right to cancel or reject any transaction suspected of fraud or misuse.
For transparency, order summaries and payment totals are shown clearly at checkout before confirmation.
4. Pricing, VAT & Fees
All prices are displayed in Euros (€) and not include VAT.
Shipping costs and other applicable fees are displayed at checkout before payment.
We reserve the right to correct any typographical or pricing errors discovered after checkout; if this occurs, we will notify you and refund any overpayment.
5. Refunds & Second-Hand Product Considerations
Due to the unique and pre-owned nature of our products, all refund requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with our Returns & Exchanges Policy.
Refunds will be issued to the same payment method used for the original purchase within 10 business days after approval.
Refund processing times depend on your bank or payment provider.
Imperfections or signs of wear disclosed in the product description are not valid grounds for refunds.
6. Payment Errors & Corrections
If a technical or pricing error occurs during checkout:
We will promptly notify you and issue a full refund if the payment was processed incorrectly.
Unique.I reserves the right to cancel erroneous transactions or adjust incorrect totals before dispatch.
You will be contacted before any correction is made to your order amount.
7. Data Retention and GDPR Compliance
Payment and billing information are retained for up to 6 years for accounting, tax, and legal purposes, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised.
We collect only essential payment data (billing address, transaction reference, payment method).

All payment data is processed lawfully under the “Performance of a Contract” basis under Article 6(1)(b) of GDPR.
